If you like the podcast, but sometimes you want to scathe silently, you will love this book. I particularly enjoyed the background information about why the particular diatribes had been written.
As a long time listener to The Scathing Atheist podcast I am delighted to have Noah’s diatribes at my fingertips. He is fearless in his takedowns of the absurdity inherent in all religions. I eagerly look forward to the next installment!
If you read this and aren't immediately thinking, doubting, questioning, angry, laughing, and/or overwhelmed, you should be spending your money on coloring books instead.
Every week Noah delivers a diatribe that is as thoughtful and cogent as it is wrathful and funny. If the leaders of our communities and nations were at least half as thoughtful and passionate, the world would be 10 times better.
I look forward to reading Volume 3.
I've been an atheist for a long time and assumed I had all this stuff worked out and yet Noah's Diatribes continue to challenge ideas I hold or present a concept I already agree with in a new way that blows my mind.
I've been a fan and patron of the show for about a year now. Although I subscribe to several of the podcasts within the atheist community, such as Cog Dis and Sam Harris, and they all remind me that I'm not alone, it's the diatribe at the beginning of The Scathing Atheist that I'm most inclined to share with friends and family. Its compact, poignant, merciless assault on whatever nonsense is bothering Noah that week is perfect for spreading new ideas to those less familiar with the cadence many of us in the community have adopted when talking about our message of prioritizing reason. The book format is no different. A quick two to four page read makes each essay so easy to pass favorites around to friends. Noah, Lucinda, Heath and Eli thank you so much for the amazing work you're doing.
The intellect I wish I had. Always on point. Always relevant. A steal. I reference Noah's diatribes to friends and family all the time. True wisdom on living a meaningful life as a sceptic.
